It Makes Me Want To Do This

Goldman-Sacks, the prime player in derivatives that caused the last collapse requiring that the tax payers bail them out is at it again. This time they are offering a sweetheart deal to its wealthiest clients for a piece of Facebook before it goes public. That way they can reap huge rewards when the price is driven up on the first few days of trading. I hope some of the big institutional investors will balk at buying stock in Facebook so as to deny Goldman and it’s cronies from getting around SEC rules about disclosure. I think they have enough. After all, Lloyd Blankfein the CEO of Goldman raked in almost 10 Million Dollars during a difficult year!

He's Coming!!!!!

Sometime in 2011 we will see world population reach 7 Billion. Imagine, seven billion people clinging to the habitable parts of the earth. The resources needed to keep all of those people alive, sheltered, fed and cared for. Imagine the pollution caused by so many people. It would take me 200 years just to count to seven billion if I counted out loud. This overpopulation is literally the source of all of the problems that we face on earth today.

Happy Holidays One and All

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy holiday season. Whether you have some type of religion or not this time of year has become a time to reflect and to celebrate not just in the United States but most places in the world. I know that there are many of you having a tough time making the mortgage payment. Some of you are on the brink of losing your homes. Many of you have no jobs and little or no prospect of any “good” job in the future since most of them have been exported by the multi-national companies doing business here. If you are healthy though, you have real blessings. Perhaps not if you have your health insurance through Community Health Systems whose CEO Wayne Smith was paid $17,836,000 last year. That amounts to $48,865 per day for every day of the year. Sleep in heavenly peace Wayne.

For all of my okie friends, especially those struggling with health insurance, unemployment, forclosure and the cost of college tuition I am sure it will please you to know that: John Gibson, CEO of ONEOK energy in Tulsa was paid $7,115,000 at last reporting. That is 222 times the average wage earner and works out to $19,493 per day, every day of the year. Incidentally, Mr. Gibson’s salary could have provided health insurance for 2,372 people for a year.

When Military Pilots Were Heroes

How many military bases would you suppose we have in foreigh countries? And don’t count Iraq, Afghanistan or any secret ones. That number would be 761. Many of these bases are located in affluent well off countries who have little need for them. Most of our military might lies in missiles and naval services so we just don’t need all of these bases sitting right in the firing line between two potential rivals. If you brought them home imagine what 761 new military bases across the U.S. would do for the economy. For the most part I think we should bring them home. We don’t need to be the world’s police force any longer and we certainly can’t afford it.

Countries around the world grow strong because they don’t have to provide for their own defence since we are doing it for them. It needs to stop.

Its A Lot of Bull

It would be my humble suggestion that everyone in the country who makes less than $250,000 take a holiday from payments for two months. Everything! Don’t pay your mortgage, don’t pay your credit card balance, don’t pay your insurance…nothing. Then combine that with a nationwide strike for perhaps 2 days where we do nothing and buy nothing. Just stay home and enjoy your family. Don’t buy any gas, don’t buy any food or clothing or junk.

Maybe we can get the attention of our government representatives and big business that we do have a VOICE!

It is only 10 days until Christmas. All of you devout Christians will be celebrating the spirit of your god. You will probably be out inviting the homeless into your homes for dinner or perhaps giving your children only one present so you can give presents to lots of needy children who won’t otherwise have a Christmas to celebrate. One thing is certain: John Stumpf, the CEO of Wells Fargo Bank, will be able to do many anonymous Christian deeds. After all, he will be paid about $58,500 for Christmas day (and every other day of the year). He deserves it don’t you think?

Almost every president from Washington to Johnson would roll over in their grave if they could see what the Senate and House are doing over the voting rules. Constitutionally a majority rule (51 votes out of 100) is required to pass any legislation. The living fossils of government have managed to change that into a super majority simply by the threat of filibuster requiring 60 votes. These corrupt, worn out, money grubbing old duffers have made lining their own pockets and perpetuating their highly paid jobs foremost in their minds. The public good be damned. We need to have a massive march on Washington to demonstrate that the citizenry is fed up.

Bernie Sanders, I-Vt stood up all day on Friday December the 10th and spoke eloquently about the idiocy of tax breaks for the very wealthy and leaving the poor and middle class with no jobs, no health care and no hope. Bravo Bernie and my apologies for the absence of my senators from Washington State.
